Having been involved in the Fashion business for 12 years as a Senior Buyer I have now been teaching for more than 20 years in Art and Design and I am a Senior Lecturer and a Researcher in training .
I have had a lifelong obsession with colour and pattern which has been influenced by personal heritage, life experiences and travel . My personal practice has developed into mainly mixed media ,painting , textiles and I am an ‘Everythingist’.
My work is inspired by many personal collections, comparing ,reflecting and responding to stimuli .
My pedagogy is influenced by my personal practice experimentation and reflection and I am interested in how Archives can stimulate ideas.

The personal methodology of my work is also an essential consideration when responding to stimulus, I enjoy experimenting and developing ideas and creating colourful and sometimes batty visual responses through sketchbooks, mini video , installation and sampling.
'I am interested in how personal heritage and life’s experiences live on in artwork and textiles and how they communicate to a new generation.
Much of my inspiration comes from personal heritage and the culture of places I have visited whilst growing up and whilst working and travelling internationally in the Fashion Industry.
My current research is related to practice based personal methodology.
