About the course

Â鶹Íø’s Faculty of Business and Law is inviting applications for a Doctoral Studentship on a fee waiver basis, available to both home and international students starting in September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for prospective doctoral researchers who want their work to make a meaningful contribution to responsible business, social justice and real-world change. The Faculty is particularly interested in research that explores how policy, place and impact shape the way organisations, industries and communities respond to today’s social, economic and environmental challenges.

Applications are welcomed from candidates whose research aligns with the Faculty’s key growth areas, including Technology and Changing Business Practice, Green Logistics and the Circular Economy, Responsible Business Practice, and Social Justice. These themes connect strongly with disciplines across Business and Management, Accounting, Finance and Economics, HRM, and Law, offering applicants the chance to develop interdisciplinary research with practical relevance.

The studentship provides an opportunity to join a vibrant research community within the Faculty of Business and Law, working alongside academics whose expertise spans business transformation, sustainability, governance, employment, finance, regulation and justice. It would be particularly suited to applicants who are ambitious about using doctoral research to inform policy, influence practice, and contribute to fairer, more sustainable futures.

Estimated thesis submission: 2029
